Tasting Notes: An extremely rich and luscious wine with enormous depth loaded with blackberries, black currant, spice, minerals, earth and smoke. Lavender, blueberries and perfume weaves in when swirled. It’s very serious structure with young fine grained tannin make way for a well balanced, deep-layered and never-ending mouth feel. This is a full throttled wine with enough restraint to last for decades! It’s broad and fleshy but at the same time very tightly wound as it rolls and rolls through the  mouth. The best even has yet to come here and there is no doubt that this is the finest version of this wine we have ever produced!

Winemaking Notes: As always mentioned we see Washington State as the best of both worlds in terms of flavors reminiscent of both the old and the new world in terms of winemaking terminology. Big ripe and rich fruit marries every year with earth, minerals spice and terroir.
Nothing exemplifies this better than our highest end Bordeaux blend which we most honestly named Intuition. 2008 was a hallmark year for this blend. The quality of the grapes from the Stone Tree vineyard out shined all other vintages and lots in the aging cellar. And so the first ever single vineyard INTUITION was born! 2 varieties stood out. Cabernet Sauvignon and Petit Verdot! They married perfectly and created also for the first time a brand new profile for the blend. Nothing short out outstanding complexity and power came of it. Lots for this wine were cold soaked, saigne’d, fermented under controlled temperatures and post macerated as it has become our stylistic and favorable choice. Malolactic was performed in 100% new French oak barrels where the wine was also aged for 26 months with very minimal intervention to preserve fruit and structure. As always this is our 1st growth offering and this year we have reached new levels of quality with the sense of place always shining through.

Our favorite foods with this wine are: filet mignon with blue cheese crumbles, blue cheese and bacon burgers, Gary Bergevin's steak chili (made every New Year's day).
