Tasting Notes: Earth and spice notes are followed by darker and deeper elements in this robust Cab. A touch of blackberries, cassis, minerals and smoke show their stuff on the palate. Incredible concentration, depth and a perfect amount of fine-grained tannins build a complex wine with substanial potential. It’s potent, muscular and balanced and is fondly nicknamed at the winery “the dark one.” Drink now thru 2019.
Winemaking Notes: The Columbia Valley Cabernet blend is our favorite and most challenging blend to make. This year almost solely a blend of Wahluke Slope and Walla Walla with only three vineyards included showcasing the best of both AVA’s. Wahluke delivers power and ripeness where as Walla Walla delivers earth, spice and mineral components while softening the major tannin structure of the Wahulke Slope. Gentle handling all the way through ensures fresh and clean fruit as with all our wines!
