Tasting Notes: Our 1st Merlot offering in 3 years and with this one we don't fool around. Soft cloying Merlot “No Thank You”!!! Extremely rich and concentrated starting out with darker cherries, spice and an earthy complexity. Smoky elements and vanilla join in while the very present young fine-grained tannins pull back for an elegant restrained mouth feel with plenty of richness and depth. A Merlot based blend of substantial character and body. Grace and power intertwined! To non Merlot drinkers: We dare you!
Winemaking Notes: A total vineyard makeover on the side of our Merlot program we initiated 4 years ago has finally paid off. Getting better vineyards combined with vine age ensures that going forward will see more Merlot coming from us. As always, very strict selection, fermentation and ageing protocols are followed to make sure that the end product is at the same quality level as all our other releases. True to our visions, we blended with other varieties for additional complexity and depth in the true BLV style!
